If your finding your time practicing has become uninteresting or boring and feel your working on the same old stuff, not growing as a drummer and other drummer are leaving you behind because they have their playing together then trust me when I tell you that your not alone. These are some of the most common problems facing all musicians of all levels.I know and understand because I was in the same situation not too long ago and decided to do something about it.All my life I loved music and drumming and refused to let it slip out of my life so I started taking lessons and bought as many books as possible and spent 5 years going thru all the challenges and pitfalls. All I wanted was to be able to learn and make it fun and exciting not to mention putting what I learn into real time playing situations. You'll see that getting started is the hardest part you'll notice that it becomes easier as we go along and you'll begin to rediscover the drums and enjoy playing and practicing more than ever before.I know because I'm still having these experiences right now and hope to continue for the rest of my drumming career. Many professional drummers out there today understand how important it is to stay on top of their playing and so can you. You'll discover how to get there and stay on top by being consistant with my syncopation warm-ups,Independent drum exercises, groove playing, goodtime and collective listening methods.I guarantee you see the results within the first month.
Thru my own experience I was able to take dozens of lessons from professional drummers and sometimes dropped $90.00 for an hour but I walked away with plenty of knowledge and discipline and decided to go it in my own way.I started to develope my own method of teaching and learning for myself this helped develope my unique style and discovered that applying these teachings to fit my approach to drumming was the answer that I was seeking learning became easy and tension free. You can learn at your pace and eventually begin to understand and start becoming your own teacher/student,you'll begin to notice that you can correct many of your own problems and together we can develope custom ecercises fitted to helping your drumming in expolsive way's.You'll learn how these drum warm-up routines and technique builders will keep your practice time challenged and rewarding and that is what will keep you wanting to continue each day.In no time you'll see how much you've improved and so will everybody else.My students are very excited when they accomplish goals and tasks that have been layed out for them in the previous weeks this gives them the confidence they need to start playing with musicians at any level. So let the bands and song writers start seeking you out because it's your groove and great timing is what makes songs come to life.

Your first goal as a drummer is to learn groove next to time this is the most important quality you will posses as a drummer there is one thing in common with all the great groove players out there, do you know what that is?If not you can learn it There are so few groove players out there these days and this is a real shame but the good news is that you can corner the market on groove playing if you play your cards right.Think about it groove and great drum sound is what have always made great records.Groove will always get you noticed and land you that gig.Where good technique is interesting it will not sell records.Technique is important and must be learned the fact of the matter is most people move and relate to records that feel good and want to move TO THE BEAT.You'll discover how to play more confidently and to listen to all the players in a band and add what is needed for the song yet still be noticed as a excellent drummer. This will take some work and dedication on your part and you will see the rewards begin to unfold in a few short weeks I guarantee it.
These lessons are geared to building your groove, time and technique in that order these are the building blocks of a great drummer where you take it from their is totally up to you.I can guarantee you will be playing much smoother and pickup new idea's much quicker and begin to understand your roll as a musician in a band or any playing situation for as long as you continue your career as a drummer. You will also understand how to play off of the other members in the band at the right times and driving the other band members to play their best.We will also cover good practice technique so you get the most out of your practice time.
Let's be realistic all of these great website are loaded with tons of information and tip's and we all use them and are thankful for all of them they certainly help and encourage us as drummers. All of the drummers websites have there place but the truth is they should never replace a good teacher someone who can be there to answer questions and concerns and to guide you on each step of the way.A student teacher relationship can never be surpassed by a website. Can you imagine if Joe Torre could coach the Yankees via the internet? The team would start to lose focus without any real direction. So you see how important a teacher or coach can be when you can tap into their resources when ever you need to or if they see that your approach needs some fine tuning they'll be there to correct and help you get back on track.

Playing with DJ's in clubs in N.Y was a great experience good thing I practiced to my brothers records growing up as a kid boy did that ever help.
lessons show you how not give in to one approach to your playing a figure there are so many ways to play one groove and turn that groove into a fill around the drum kit or play the groove and lead with your left hand giving a funky feel. How about playing pradiddle grooves and then use them as fills or licks on the kit I tell you it is endless.Don't ever think you learned it all and you have nothing to work on theres alway something that needs work . God bless Ya. Mike
